Preliminary Considerations

There are numerous ways and possibilities to organize your studies abroad: If you would like to spend only a few months in a nearby foreign country and the organizational effort should be kept within limits, then participation in a university exchange program within the framework of Erasmus+ is recommended for you.

Or do you want to take the chance and get to know one of our partner universities worldwide? Perhaps you have already chosen a foreign university that is not a partner university of the TH Lübeck and are ready to handle the planning and implementation on your own. 

On these pages you will find information on different types of study abroad and information on financing the project abroad. In advance it should be underlined: The financing questions should in no case deter and nip the idea in the bud. Through numerous scholarship offers and other funding opportunities, a study period abroad can be affordable for everyone. A semester abroad also does not automatically mean that your study time will be extended beyond the standard period of study.

Find out early - 1.5 years before the planned stay - at information events at the university or visit the International Office, so that you do not miss any application deadline and have time to make decisions and be clear about the right time to study abroad.
