Shanghai-Stipend
The Shanghai scholarship covers:
- Tuition Waiver in China
- Accommodation in international dormitories (Single Room with bathroom and Internet access)
- Monthly allowance in the amount of 1000 Yuan (this sum covers study and meals on campus)
- Support through the International Office and Student Buddies in China
Costs for visa, flights and insurances have to be covered by the student. We recommend to apply for a DAAD Promos-scholarship to cover travel costs.
Note: If you plan to have the ECUST project work be recognized as internship as part of your studies at TH Lübeck, please clarify beforehand with the departmental coordinator whether the project task at ECUST meets all requirements.
Application requirements
Eligable are students enrolled at TH Lübeck in studies leading to a recognised degree in one of these departments:
- Applied Natural Sciences
- Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration
It is highly recommended to engange as a Chinabuddy for one semester before submitting the application to gain first experiences in dealing with the Chinese culture and way of living.
Application
Applications have to be addressed to the Vice President for Research and International Relations, Prof. Frank Schwartze, including the supporting documents:
- Signed Scholarship form
- Meaningful Cover letter, addressing field-specific background information and the desired department at ECUST
- CV
- Transcript of Records
- Proof of English language skills (e.g. school leaving certificate)
- Letter of recommentation issued by a professor at TH Lübeck
- Additional relevant supporting documents, if applicable
Note: Before applying, an individual appointment with the China-Koordination is receommended to receive all necessary information which might not be available on the English-speaking ECUST website to choose the right department and study/ research project.
Please clarify in advance with the head of your study program or departmental coordinator whether your planned study/ research project at ECUST can be recognized as part of your studies at TH Lübeck.
The application documents have to be submitted digitally (PDF) in German and English to the China-Koordination.
For the winter semester 2021/22 the application deadline ends on 01.03.2021.
The Sino-German College of Technology at ECUST is responsible for the final selection of the scholarship candidates. TH Lübeck makes a pre-selection on the criteria academic performance and personal aptitude.
