Background
Under the roof "Mittelstand 4.0 - Center of Excellence Kiel", several scientific, research and transfer institutions distributed throughout Schleswig-Holstein are united. This pool of experts provides entrepreneurs with knowledge and practical solutions. In this way, they equip their companies for global change processes through digitization.
The TH Lübeck participates in the determination and the proof of the economy of digitization projects and offers the method competence for a successful conversion of digitization projects.
Objective
The CoSA Center of Excellence of TH-Lübeck focuses on the topics wireless networking and locating systems:
Localization and tracing can be used to optimize a large number of business processes, record paths and identify hot spots. Location data forms the basis for performance recording both for controlling processes and for virtual interaction within the framework of augmented reality applications. The positioning data is linked to other wireless sensor data and forms the basis for the Digital Factory. Locating systems are an important component for digital networking within the value chain (e.g. wireless sensors). Multifunctional and cooperative robots use provided information and at the same time contribute to the design of optimal processes. The potential of this key technology is demonstrated on the basis of project results and enables a practice-oriented knowledge and technology transfer.
Approach
The horizontal and vertical system integration creates the possibility of a timely and automated linkage of production data with business process data. Key objectives are the flexibilization of product diversity and self-organization through orchestration of historical data, control and status data as well as real-time data. The IT infrastructure to be provided for this should make it possible to make condition, control and safety-relevant data available bilaterally in real time to all production process and business process components. It should be possible to exchange all information within an industrial plant in a continuous and transparent manner, both across processes and locations and, if necessary, across companies. This means complete digitalization of all production and business processes.
