Marco Cimdins' doctoral thesis successfully completed

On June 13, 2024, Marco Cimdins, an employee of the CoSA competence center, celebrated a significant milestone in his academic career: he successfully completed his doctoral thesis at the Technische Hochschule Lübeck with a disputation.

His dissertation, which was written in close collaboration with the Universität zu Lübeck and its Institute for Telematics under the direction of Prof. Dr. Stefan Fischer, was recently submitted. Interested readers can look forward to reading the dissertation, as it will be available in the university library after publication - a recommended read for the summer.

The official examinations were followed by a celebratory tribute from his colleagues at the CoSA, who were able to fully express their creativity. The numerous gifts included a lovingly designed doctor's hat, decorated with personal memories and allusions to their years together. A special highlight of the day was the presentation of an AI-generated music album, which reflected Marco's career and interests in a humorous musical way.

The celebrations continued with a traditional procession, which Marco and his daughter led to the university's Audimax in a festively decorated handcart. Accompanied by lively music and surrounded by a group of cheerful colleagues, the new Dr.-Ing. addressed the audience after his arrival.

At the end of the official part of the celebrations, the traditional javelin throwing competition took place in nearby Carlebach Park. Marco set a new record for the CoSA with a throw of 13.49 meters.

The team at the CoSA Competence Center congratulates Marco Cimdins wholeheartedly on passing the test. We are proud to have such an inspiring and pleasant colleague in our ranks and wish him all the best for the future.
